Chrisath made the sound that was the equivalent of dragon laughter and turned her head so that one eye was focused on him and the other on Mira. Mine was too, but she worries too much about what would have happened if I had not chosen her.
“Yes my family is still here. My father is a brown rider and my mother is one of the cooks in the lower caverns.” She said with a small grin, and then added. “I was Searched by one of the older blue riders because he noticed my talent for helping my father with his dragon. What about you?” She asked, hoping he didn't mind talking about it.

A'thel shrugged, "Just seemed natural. The generations of riders and all. We even lasted through the Dark Wars. Tough skin, that's what my father always says. Anyway, my twin, my elder sister, and myself were all ushered to the Candidate Master when my mother thought we were old enough-turned out to be fifteen. My mother and my elder sister rides green. My father is a brownrider too. We all expected Evana to Impress, and when she didn't, the whole family was shocked. I think she feels that she has failed our parents some how. It wouldn't be so bad if there were more flights, but there's only been two in twelve turns..." He broke off. Evana might not appreciate him telling her whole life story to some one that she wasn't close to. But it's not like there was many who didn't know about her not impressing. . .

Mira nodded and had a soft look of understanding in her eyes. “Don’t worry I’m sure at the next clutch that your sister will impress,” she told him in a reassuring tone. “My mom felt that in a way I would be safer if the Darkriders had come back and I had impressed.” She told him, still trying to understand her mother’s logic behind that. Because you have me to protect you. Chrisath told her defensively. Mira didn’t ever bother to suppress a grin, knowing that she probably looked like a fool for grinning all of a sudden.

He smiled apologetically and looked away at the ground, "I know, and I don't think she would want any one to feel bad for her. She's strong. She surprize us one day." He looked back at her, "I think it is a very good thing to Impress, you have someone that you can share everything with. Morgeth keeps me sane." He chuckled lightly.
I would protect you, Mine, if anyone tried to hurt you I would fight fiercly! The brown lifted his head and rumbled.

“I’m sorry if I said something that was offending.” She said softly as she noticed that his gaze fell to the ground. “Yes, impression is a very god thing.” She said softly in a tone that was almost under her breath. “I don’t know what I would do without Chrisath.” She said with a small almost invisible grin.

He looked surprized before laughing, "Oh, no offense at all, milady. I don't think you could offend us, we're of proud stock but we know when to take hits and when not too." He had a strong family pride, and talked of them as one single unit often. "I bet Chrisanth would say the same thing about you, you know. I think the prossess of Impression is simply amazing."

A wave of relief seemed to wash over her as she realized that she had not offended anyone. The last thing she needed was to make an enemy because of what she had said. “Yes the process of impression of a very amazing thing indeed,” she agreed with a firm nod of her head to back up her statement. “Even though impression is truly amazing it is mysterious in a kind of way.” She told him and then went on to explain what she meant. “For years Riders have been trying to figure out how the dragonet knows who to pick and what draws too one particular person over everyone else.”
We just know Chrisath replied with a small croon as she lowered her head so that it was almost hanging over her rider’s shoulder.
