Evana was by no means part of the weaver craft, but she was helping the Headwoman out with some mending. She had some man's breeches now was sewing up some holes. She sighed, wishing she were in the Weyrling Barracks with her brother and sister. She wished she had Impressed. It was all she thought about in the last four turns. She had to Impress, it was the only thing she really wanted in life. She bit her lip, and then stitched another row before sitting back in her chair, a heap of clothes needed to be mended on one side, a much smaller, neater pile of 'done' clothes on the other. She had volunteered for the job, too. She wondered if any one would be coming by, maybe she could get them to help her...
Her hair had been plaited and the braid slung across her shoulder. Some hair whisped out of its confinds, almost enhancing her looks. Sighing again, she wished for company.

((Sorry this took so long...))
Tired and hungry, Xelin arrived at the Weyrhall with little fanfair, and emediatly started searching out food. It didn't take her long to gather up a tasty platter of food, and begin her journey back to the tables. Feeling lonesome for human company(Not that she would ever feel lonely while Khyimth was around), Xelin looked around the cavern for someone to eat with. Not seeing anyone else eating, she was about to admit defeat and eat alone, when she spotted another girl, close to her own age.
Once closer to the table the other girl sat at, Xelin recognized her- Evana, a candidate who had been present at Khyimth's hatching. The poor girl hadn't Impressed, though most of the rest of her family rode Dragons.
"Hello Evana." Xelin sat down, and took a bite of her tubers. Evana looked neat, with her brown hair plaited, and serious, mending clothing. Xelin was glad she wasn't saddled with mending anymore- except for riding leathers, and harness.

Evana looked up and her eyes fell on the queenrider. She wasn't sure of the ettiqute, but was sure that Xelin wasn't so arrogant as to expect a lower girl to stand. She smiled, "Hello, Xelin, nice day, isn't it?"
It was so very boring to talk about the weather, but that was all that Evana could think of to start a conversation. She pulled her needle through the breeches again and then tied them off, placing them in the growing done pile.
((Should this now take place after the feast, or before?))

((No preference))
"I wouldn't know." Xelin glanced down, embarrassed. "I haven't had a chance to get out today- I've been trying to reorganize the records. Next stop is outside though- I couldn't bare to spend any more time inside. It gets to me after a while."
Not that she was claustrophobic or anything. It was just after a while she got cravings to go be with Khyimth, in the hot sun, and she could always bring something outside with her so that she wouldn't feel like she was neglecting her duties.
She shifted slightly, peering at Evana. “How’s your brother?” She asked, taking another bite of her food. A'thel was in her Weyrling class, but like most of the people in the Weyr, she didn't know him very well.

Evana nodded, some times she felt like she needed to be outside, but she didn't mind being inside all the time. She usually had chores under the Headwoman, helping with inventory and the such. She picked up another pair of pants, this one smaller and a lesser hole. Then Xelin asked about her brother. For some reason it took her by surprize. Of course her brother was in the same class, and Xelin was a very polite and observant girl, but still. She looked up at the queenrider and smiled, she was pleased her brother was noticed, it would be a good thing if he still wanted to be a Wingsecond one day, "A'thel? He's doing well, keeping up with his lessons and things. I suppose you guys are graduating soon. Excited like him?"

"Oh my yes- some of our classes are just becoming repetitive. If I don't know the signs of illness now, I won't ever know them!" Realizing she sounded ungrateful, and crass, Xelin quickly searched for a way to look more Ladylike, and proper.
"Not that drilling into our heads is a bad idea of course." These works were spoken with considerably less passion, but all the same, were added. A few more bites of her meal were consumed before Xelin could think of adding anything else.
"A'thel's a good Weyrling. I think he'll do well when he graduates." She wasn't joking- in the under populated Weyr that they lived in, even a Blue had a chance to move up in the Ranks. A Brownrider, with ambition would move up- it was almost guaranteed. If A'thel had ambition, it remained to be seen, but he was a hard worker.

"Of course," as Xelin was talking about repitition. She nodded in understandment. Even though she didn't ride, she was still attending a few candidate lessons. Those were tedious. Recently, she had asked the Headwoman to teach her some things, and she got the feeling the woman felt that Evana wanted her job, or was trying to tell her she was getting old; this was not the case exactly, but she was trying to plan her life around the dragonriders if she couldn't ride.
When she spoke of A'thel she was pleased, "Why I'm glad you think so. I some times worry for him, as I do my whole family. I try to look after them all, so my time is used working for them. If A'thel does well, my work and podding has paid off. My sister told me once that if I ever have children I won't even have time to sleep," She laughed. Of course there was more than the truth there, because while she did look out for her family, she also did work to try and help herself out.
