Pets: A green and a broze flit of the same clutch.
Description: Jarvis stands at 5’9”. His hair is curly inherited from his mother, and blond taken from his father. His hair is straw-yellow and cut to just above his shoulder. His hair is a mess and can never seem to be controlled, so Javis doesn’t deal with it on most days. His eyes area deep, piecing blue that are surrounded by very think eyelashes, giving him feminine looking eyes. His best feature his mother says. Javis has a short knobby nose, a stubborn chin and relatively thin lips. His ears are medium sized and his skin is a light in shade.
His body build is stocky and thick, only a few Weyrbrats’ would dare get into his way. Jarvis has long legs, which are slightly muscled, an average looking torso, not too muscled but not wimp looking. His arms are a tad bit more muscled from doing ordinary chores around the Weyr. Basically he gets fit without trying, its just genetics I guess. Jarvis doesn’t care what he wears as long as it covers him up and doesn’t look too raggedy, no pinks and oranges for him.
Personality: Jarvis is most happy when he’s just hanging around being useless. He can work, but prefers not to. He’s polite around anyone who ranks him, which is most everyone, and sometimes takes care of his siblings or the younger Weyrbrats’. He’s great with kids, having grown up caring for his siblings, he prefers to watch Weyrbrats’, as long as they aren’t toddlers. Jarvis fears that he might somehow hurt a baby if he tries to take care of it since had much experience with babies, only kids. Jarvis can be a bit judgmental, but hides it if he stats to cause an awkward situation.
Though he hates to admit it Javis has a fear of creepy crawlies, having had a bad incident with them when he was a kid. He can’t stand annoying people and can be un-talkative at his rudest. Being the oldest he has learned to be responsible when times are hard, but when not he can be a slacker, like with cleaning and stuff. He loves to swim and does so when ever he gets the chance, he also likes to ride runner beasts’ from the Weyr’s stable on occasion.
Background: Darius was born at Fort Weyr, and was orphaned at 9 when his mother died of a chest cold. He was left with his old grandmother who passed away in her sleep when Darius was 17. Corinne was born to a cotholder’s family. She was one of many siblings and wanted a life of her own. So when she was 18 she traveled to Fort Weyr where she met Darius and married. Jarvis is the oldest of four children. Growing up he had to take care of his siblings when his mother took sick, or when food was scarce. He had a bad experience with some bugs when he took a nap and found 3 crawling on him. He hasn’t ever really gotten over the fear of them since.
When Jarvis turned 17 and his brother, Araxian, turned 15 they both decided to become Candidates in hopes of one day Impressing dragons. Their parents were skeptical and worried, because the dangers of being a Dragonrider could be fatal. Their mother was the one against it the most. But she couldn’t stop them after they had set their minds on that path. So far they wait with their hopes high.
Sample RP: Babysitting
Corinne walked into the room and shook the bed of the sleeping teen. “Get up” She said curtly. “It’s already been sun up now for hours and your still in bed!!! You need to watch you sister Carola for me while I work.” Groaning the teen rolled over and sat up on his bed and stared with bloodshot eyes at his mother.
He had staid up late the night before with friends and was exhausted. He groaned but didn’t argue. He knew that his mother would just find more stuff for him to do if he did. Getting up after his mother left he pulled on yesterdays shirt and pants, and wiped the sleep from his eyes.
Corinne came back into the room to make sure Jarvis was up. She stood frowning at his shabby appearance but said nothing. She had tried to make Jarvis more concerned about is appearance, but it clearly hadn’t sunken in.
“I’m leaving now, lunch will be ready in an hour at the Weyr Hall, you missed breakfast.” She simply looked at him but Jarvis gave no reply and just shrugged his shoulders. “Well”, she continued “ I’ll be seeing you, watch over you sister and make sure she doesn’t get into any trouble” An edge had entered her voice, Jarvis just nodded, Corinne stood there a moment longer to letting it sink in. Then she left. Leaving Jarvis with his 8 turn old hyper-as-you-could-ever-be little sister Carola. She came running into his room after their mother had left and hugged him.
“Come on, lets go play!!!!" Carola had already been up since dawn and had waited for her favorite brother to get up. Now she wanted to play. “Fine” Jarvis muttered untangling her arms from around his waist, “Just as long as it isn’t anything too active”. Carola just giggled and scampered off with Jarvis slowly walking behind her.
